Bpost services
Bpost is the Belgian postal service.
You can create a user account to:
- perform certain transactions
- store frequently used addresses and parameters
- be informed by e-mail for deliveries
- consult your transactions
It can be very handy so send parcels.
editFirst login to make sure you can reuse already registered addresses (senders, receivers). You get an invoice that you can use as expense claim.
Send a package
edit- Create a label, select the weight
- Fill in the address, interactively, because the address is validated online
- Mention e-mail and/or mobile number, so the receiver gets informed about the delivery.
- Pay the postage, print the label, download the invoice.
- You can deposit easily the package into an automate. Just click on "send package" and scan the label. Choose the size and deposit the package into the locker.
- Or you can deliver the parcel in a Bpost store.
To return a package
edit- First you need to pay the original postage
- Then search the original label
- Create (and pay separately) a return label
Track and trace
editKnown problems
edit- At the moment of paying you should immediately download the invoice (this does not contain the destination address)
- The payment receipt received via e-mail contains the destination names and adresses (privacy problem for expense claims)
- When requiring a return label, first create and pay the sending label separately
- When uploading a CSV file:
- You need to keep the original format (otherwise you get a "language" error)
- Excel files are not accepted
- For the weight you need to enter "full kg" e.g. 1, or 2 (no comma, nor decimal point -> wrongly specified on the documentation)
- You might get the wrong sender address; please verify
- The web site is not always clear; it can be pretty confusing...
- The interface is different when logged in or not... maks sure you are logged in
