Groeningemuseum

This page describes the collaboration with the Groeningemuseum.

Purpose

The goal is to get the collection of the Groeningemuseum in Wikidata and images of the artworks to Wikimedia Commons.

History and background

In 2015-2016 the museum took part in the project Flemish art collections, Wikidata and Linked Open Data.

• 23-24 January 2016 - Import data of museum's collection to Wikidata as part of the project Flemish art collections, Wikidata and Linked Open Data
• 16 November-6 December 2017 - Import 844 images to Wikimedia Commons   (Alina data & Sam.Donvil)
• 21 March 2018 - Online meeting about KMSKA & Groeningemuseum   (Romaine & Alina data & Sam.Donvil)
• 21-23 March 2018 - Clean-up of creators of 844 images (81 new created, others linkfix or minus), adding donation template and adding category for creator

The metrics and statistics of this project are:

• Number of Wikidata items added (or extended): 2858 artworks in original dataset
• Number of images added: 844 files
• Number of Wikidata items improved: 81 newly created creator templates linked in Wikidata
